Decision Paper
A Decision Paper is used to state a recommended action for solving a problem. The writer enables the decision maker to decide on an appropriate course of action by identifying and analyzing both the problem and possible courses of action discussed in the Decision Paper. The recommendation should be simply stated and must chart a clear course of action for the decision-maker, permitting simple approval, or disapproval, by the decision maker.

Information Paper
A document used to provide all facts and salient points on a specific issue.
Issue or Topic Paper
A study document that utilizes tabs to present pertinent information.
Point Paper
The point paper is an informal listing of significant facts on a specific problem/subject, often used to assist in oral discussions. Logical sequence is desirable but not mandatory if deadline precludes or if the relative transience or unimportance of the subject matter does not merit a more detailed treatment.
Talking Paper
A talking paper is a narrative form that can be used to advance a point of view or summarize an action or proposal. It normally should stand by itself without reference to backup material.
