As per MCCS local policy, please note the following on returning to the workplace after Storm Watch or ALL Clear is announced:
No employee is to be outside during TC1E or TC1R. Facility Managers send your written damage reports to your CSC/CSS with a copy to your respective Chief. Unless otherwise directed by the AC/S, MCCS, No MCCS Employee will report to work until TC Storm Watch or All Clear is announced. |

Tropical Cyclone Conditions of Readiness (TCCOR) Definitions and Responses
TCCOR 5: Destructive winds of 50 knots sustained or greater than 60 knots gusts are possible within 96 hours. TCCOR 5 is only used outside the established typhoon season. TCCOR 4: Destructive winds of 50 knots or greater are possible within 72 hours. Stock up on food and typhoon supplies. Okinawa remains in TCCOR 4 from l Jun to 30 November each year. Review all TCCOR checklists and actions. TCCOR 3: Destructive winds of 50 knots or greater are possible within 48 hours. Initiate a general cleanup around homes and office. TCCOR 2: Destructive winds of 50 knots or greater are anticipated within 24 hours. Install shutters, typhoon tape (as necessary), and remove or secure outside awnings and antenna. TCCOR 1: Destructive winds of 50 knots or greater are anticipated within 12 hours. DoDEA schools close. Make final check of food and water, and other supplies. If you live in low lying quarter, make arrangements to share quarters elsewhere. TCCOR 1 Caution: Destructive winds of 50 knots or greater are anticipated w within 12 hours. Actual winds of 35 to 49 knots are occurring. All outside activities, except those in direct support of URGENT military or civil missions will be discontinued. All nonessential personnel will be released at this time. TCCOR 1 Emergency: Destructive winds of 50 knots or greater are occurring. All outside activities are prohibited. Have flashlights ready in case of power outages and listen to AFN radio or television for current storm information. TCCOR 1 Recovery: The installation is no longer experiencing destructive winds of 50 knots or greater, but strong winds may still occur. Nonessential functions remain closed unless directed by the commander. All but emergency essential personnel remain in their quarters. TCCOR Storm Watch: Typhoon is moving away, but the installation is still feeling some effects. Hazardous conditions may exist due to storm damage. In some cases the storm could return to Okinawa, so stay alert. All military and civilian personnel will return to work within two hours during normal duty time, unless otherwise instructed by instructed by their commander. MCCS employees return to work IAW guidance provided in Para. 7j. of the directive. TCCOR All Clear: All Clear is announced when all hazards have been cleared. DoDEA teachers, staff, and students will return to school during normal hours. For questions regarding specific measures taken during each TCCOR, ask your chain of command or check with official channels. |
